It depends on the height of the point of projection from the ground. For height=0 it is 45° or π/4 radians . there is an equation to find range in projectile motion that is

Range= (v^2) (sin2A )/ g { where A= angle of projection)

Now we know sine function has range of (-1,1) so for max range sin2A = 1 => 2A = π/2 => A=π/4 or 45°
