Answer:

The answer is={4×2(l+b)}÷speed={4×2×(200+100)}÷10=(4×2×300)÷10=2400÷10=240 sec = 4 min = (1/15) hr

Answer- The above question is from the chapter 'Motion'.

Concepts used: Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 (length + breadth)

Speed = Distance/ Time

Question: How much time taken by a car driver to take four rounds of rectangular garden whose length is 200 m and breadth is 100 m? The speed of the car is 10 m/s.

Solution: Length of rectangular garden (l) = 200 m

Breadth of rectangular garden (b) = 100 m

The driver is taking rounds of rectangular garden i.e. the distance covered by driver is four times the perimeter of the garden.

Perimeter of rectangular garden = 2(l+b) = 2 (200 + 100) = 2 (300) = 600 m

Total distance covered = 4 × 600 = 2400 m

Now, distance = 2400 m

Speed of car = 10 m/s

Time = ?

Speed = Distance / Time

⇒ Time = Distance/ Speed

Time= 2400 / 10

Time = 240 seconds or 4 minutes.

∴ Car driver will take 4 minutes to take four rounds of rectangular garden.
