When recalling our knowledge about circular motion we can derive the below equation,

ω = 2π/T

T - Time taken to complete one circle (Time Period)

ω- Angular Velocity

We can arrange the above equation as below because we wanted to find the time period of the satellite,

T=2π/ω ---------- (1)

And also we can use the below equation to relate angular velocity and linear velocity, because the question provides us the linear velocity of the satellite,

V = rω

ω = V/r ₋₋₋₋₋₋₋₋₋ (2)

By substituting equation 2 to 1 we can get,

T = 2πr/V

  = [2 x 3.14 x (6400 + 3600)]/3.14

  • We have to take the r as radius of the earth + distance from earth's surface to the satellite.
  • π = 3.14

T = 20,000 Seconds
