CH4 + 2O2 -> CO2 + 2H20
4g of methane has 4/16 = 0.25 moles
From the equation it is clear that 1 mole of CH4 requires 2 moles of O2
Thus 0.25 moles will require 0.5 moles of O2
1 mole of gas will occupy 22.4 L
thus 0.5 mole of gas will occupy 11.2 L
Thus volume of oxygen required is 11.2L
