Molarity means

no. of moles of solute/

volume of soln in litres

If 0.1 me the no. of moles, then obviously the volume of solution is 1 L

Now Wt of solution = 0.1*40=4g

So volume of NaOH(solute) =wt/density

=4/1.515=2.64 cubic cm

So volume of solvent=1000-2.64=997.36 cubic cm=0.997 L
