Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say cost Price of Milk  = C rs / litre

Water is free of cost

Let say  x ml water is added in 900 ml milk

Cost price of milk = (900/1000)C = 0.9C

Cost price of 900+x  ml  = 0.9C

Selling price per litre = C + (10/100)C = 1.1C

Selling price of 900 + x ml   = ( (900 + x)/1000)1.1C

Let say profit is 2/9

Profit = 0.9C * 2/9  = 0.2C

Selling Price  = 0.9C + 0.2C  = 1.1C

( (900 + x)/1000)1.1C = 1.1C

=> 900 + x = 1000

=> x = 100

100 ml water to be added in 900 ml to gain 2/9 by selling it 10% above the cost price.
