Meaning of 12 percent alcohol can be called as 12 ml of alcohol in 100 ml of solution, therefore, let the volume of water added which is unknown be called x.

So, this way the volume of solute would be (100-12) ml, i.e. 88 ml.

So, 88 ml of water is required to mix with 12 ml of alcohol to get the solution to the level of 12 percent alcohol.

HEY!!

___________________________

⏺️Volume of water to be mixed = x ml

⏺️Total volume of the mixture = ( x+12 ) ml

⏺️There is 12% of alcohol solution, this means that mixture contains the volume of 12%.

⏺️We get the equation:-

 \frac{12}{(x + 12)} = 12 \% \: or \: \frac{12}{100}

⏺️x = 88mL

⏺️⏺️88ml of water should be added to make it 12% alcohol solution.
