Given :

▪ Current flow = 0.2A

▪ Resistance of conductor = 200Ω

▪ Time interval = 5min

To Find :

▪ Heat developed by conductor in the given interval of time.

Formula :

↗ Formula of heat developed by conductor in terms of current flow, resistance of conductor and time is given by

\bigstar\bf\:H=I^2Rt

  • H denotes heat energy
  • I denotes current
  • R denotes resistance
  • t denotes time

Conversion :

❇ 1min = 60s

❇ 5min = 5×60 = 300s

Calculation :

\implies\sf\:H=I^2Rt\\ \\ \implies\sf\:H=(0.2)^2\times 200\times 300\\ \\ \implies\sf\:H=\dfrac{240000}{100}\\ \\ \implies\underline{\boxed{\bf{H=2400J=2.4kJ}}}\:\bigstar

Given :

  • Current through the conductor = 0.2 Ampere
  • Resistance = 200 ohm
  • Time taken = 5 min = 300 sec

To Find :

  • Amount of heat energy developed or produced in the conductor.

Formula used :

H = I²Rt

Here,

  • H is the heat energy
  • I is the current
  • R is resistance
  • t is the time taken

Solution :

Now, upon substituting the values in the formula we obtain,

H = I²Rt

H = 0.2² × 200 × 300

H = 0.04 × 60,000

H = 2400 Joule

Therefore, 2400 joule of energy is developed in the conductor.
