How much work is done by a force of 10 N in moving an object through a distance of 4m in the direction of the force??

As we know that, work = force × displacement in the direction of force 
                                     = 10 × 4 
                                     = 40 N-m
                                     = 40 Joule
if the displacement is not in the direction of force, then take the component of displacement in the direction of force .
