How much work is done by an electric motor to pump 50 kg water to a height of 40 metres. Also calculate the power of the motor if it completes this work in 25 seconds. (Given, g = 10 ms²)

Solution: Given, m= 50 kg. g=10 ms, h = 40 m

So,

work done = force x distance =m x g x h=50x 10 x 40 = 20000 J

=Work done by the electric motor is 20,000 J.

Now, \: power \: p = \frac{20000}{25}  = 800w \\

-> The power of the motor is 800 W.
