Hey friends here is your answer :-
Consider an object of mass "M'' at a distance of "H" from the ground. The force acting on object is equal to the weight of the object.
Here work is done against gravity which will store in object as potential energy (PE)
Therefore work done = PE = force *(displacement)W = PE = mass * ( gravity) * (height)....
Therefore this is an equation of potential energy.......SI unit is joule...
