Consider an object of mass m at a distance of h from the ground. The force acting on object is equal to the weight of the object. Here work is done. Against gravity which will store in object as potential energy ( PE )..........................
Therefore work done = PE = force * displacement......W = PE = mass * gravity * height....therefore this is an equation of potential energy.......si unit is joule...
