The nerve has nerve endings at the end, and dendrites at front. The endings send signals but the two neurons have some distance in which synapse is filled. When one neuron send signal it pass through synapse and get transported to other neuron'dendrites. In this way the signals get transmitted.

The information is acquired through the dendrite tip. It then travels through cyton/cell body , travels then to axon until it finally reaches the nerve ending. The signal/information is then passed on to a gap between the 2 neurons called synapse which contains chemicals called neurotransmitters....it crosses the synapse and then reaches to another neuron....HOPE THIS HELPS.
