Nucleus of the cell contains chromosomes which contain the genetic matter DNA that guide the cell to do the required functions for its survival. When the cell becomes mature then the DNA begins to copy itself and within few hours in the interphase the genetic material doubles and the nucleus guides the organelles to prepare for mitosis and the cell divides. Similarly when cell is damaged or is not functioning properly the nucleus sends messages in form of rna to the lysosomes to perform autolysis. In this way the nucleus is just like the brain of the cell and gives out messages in form of rna based on the requirements and conditions in the cells.
