How on given longitude the local time remains the same

Because Local time of a place is calculated by the Sun's position on that longitude of the particular place. Thus it remains same.

If all the places of the world use their own local time then it would be very confusing. Thus for smooth functioning of the railways, airways and other means of transport Standard time and Time zones are used.
