Opening and closing of stomata is regulated by guard cells. I'll tell you how this happens. When guard cells absorb water, water starts bulding an osmotic pressure against the walls of guard cells due to which they swell up and as a result stomata opens . Similar when they lose water , osmotic pressure decreases and they shrink as a result of which stomata get closed. Other wastes produced by plant are excess water and some solid wastes which they lose by shedding leaves etc..
