Mouth :- Digestion of food begin from mouth. It secrets saliva which contain digestive enzyme called salivary amylase, which helps in breakdown of starch into sugar.

Stomach :- It stored and mixes food received from oesophagus with gastric juice. The main component of gastric juice are HCl , mucus and pepsin. HCl dissolved food and create medium acidic. Pepsinogen is converted into pepsin which is a protein digesting enzyme. Mucus protect inner lining of the stomach from the action of HCl.

Small intestine :- It digest protein, carbohydrates and fats. It produces intestinal juice from gland present in its wall. It obtain juices from liver and pancreas that helps in mixing of the food. The liver produces bile juice that causes emulsification of fats and the pancreas produce pancreatic juices for digesting protein and emulsified fats. This digesting is finally absorbed through the intestinal walls.
