How ozone molecule and carbon dioxide are different although they both have 3 atoms in total?

Answer: It is because of the type of elements.

Explanation: Ozone is made up of 3 atoms of same element ( i.e Oxygen ) but Carbon dioxide is made up 3 atoms of two different elements ( i.e Hydrogen and Oxygen ). Therefore both are made up of different elements and this makes them different.
