It involves addition of ozone across the double bond of the alkene to form a primary ozonide. This reaction is quite exothermic and results in decomposition of the primary ozonide into a carbonyl compound and a Criegee intermediate (R1R2COO) which may decompose, or react with the reagents or other products.

I hope this will help you!!!
