because it is a living cell and store food.where as sclrenchyma tissue have dead cells it give mechanical support to the plants .parenchyma has unspeacialised cells with thin cell walls.they are usually loosely packed. sclrenchyma tissue present in the stem of a plants it make the stem hard

Parenchyma tissue is made of alive cells whereas sclerenchyma tissue is made of dead cells.Parenchyma is the soft tissue but the sclerenchyma is the hard tissue. Parenchyma is known as pithy tissue whereas sclerenchyma is ligneous tissue. Hope this helps you
