For example, although it is widely acknowledged that employees are an organisation’s greatest asset, and that companies require a healthy balance of meeting short-term needs while aspiring to long-term goals, there was a time when such insights were not engrained in business rhetoric. Someone had to profess them, publish them and develop management as a discipline in the first place. That person was Peter Drucker.
