Answer:

The pH of our stomach is critical to the digestion of many nutrients and acts as the first line of defense against harmful bacteria and viruses. The stomach is a reservoir of strong acid, with a much lower pH than in any other part of our digestive system.

hope it's helpful!

Explanation:

The importance of pH in our digestive system :

Our stomach produce hydrochloric acid (HCL) which helps in digestion of food. When we eat spicy food, stomach produces too much of acid which causes 'acidity', i.e, when acidity increases in the stomach, it causes pain, irritation and indigestion.

To correct the disturbed pH range, milk of magnesia is used as a medicine, which is also called antacid as it reduces the effect of acid (or acidity).

Answer:

pH plays a crucial role in a normally functioning digestive tract. In the mouth, pharynx and esophagus, pH is typically about 6.8, very weakly acidic. Saliva controls pH in this region of the digestive tract. Salivary amylase is contained in saliva and starts the breakdown of carbohydrates into monosaccharides.

Explanation: pH full form

In chemistry, denoting 'potential of hydrogen' or 'power of hydrogen') is a scale used to specify the acidity or basicity of an aqueous solution. Lower pH values correspond to solutions which are more acidic in nature, while higher values correspond to solutions which are more basic or alkaline.
