C6H5OH+ZnO--->C6H6+ZnO (heating is required for the reaction)

Phenol+zinc dust--->benzene+zinc oxide (heating is required for the reaction)

This reaction is basically a reduction reaction for phenol. It is used to prepare benzene from phenol.

In this reaction phenol gets reduced by the zinc dust  to form benzene and zinc dust is oxidised to zinc oxide.
