<> As we know that plants plants are the main source of food production.
<> Plants produce food by the process of photosynthesis.
<> Plants need CO2, water, sunlight, soil and etc to perform photosynthesis.
☆☆ Note: Plants which have chlorophyll (green pigment) can only performance photosynthesis.
》Plants provide us food and plants are also food for some living organisms.
》No living organisms like humans or animals contain chlorophyll is their body , so thus cannot prepare food.
》So, This makes plants the major production of food.

THE MIRAGE:
every body thinks that only plants produce food well its not so some zooplanktons too produce food as they have the photosynthetic pigment in them which is similar to the plants its quite surprising but its true that photosynthetic pigment also exisTs in other organisms
SO PLANTS ARE NOT THE ONLY PRODUCRES!!!!!!
(REMEMBER THIS POINT)
ACCORDING TO YOUR QUESTION:
HOW PHOTOSYNTHESIS MAKES PLANTS THE UNIVERSAL PRODUCERS:
There are several other zooplanktons which produce their own food but they donot provide food for other organisms in bulk quantities the are microscopic organisms which live in water of course some organisms depend on them as food but they are of small amounts only
Whereas plants produce starch in huge amounts immense production of food by the immense cholorophyll where starch is in huge quantities even after the usage of the plants own needs ,plants as being terrestrial beings they provide food for organisms on earth this makes the universal producers
hope u understood and hope it helps
