⭕ It includes cyanobacteria (blue green algae) .
⭕ Cyanobacteria are unicellular, colonial or filamentous freshwater, marine water or terrestrial. The colonies are generally surrounded by gelatinous sheath. They have photosynthesis pigments chlorophyll a, phycocyanin and phycoerythrin (phycobillins).
Some nitrogen fixing cyanobacteria like nostoc and anabena have specialised thick walled cells called heterocyst. Heterocyst contain nitrogen fixing enzymes nitrogenase and maintain anaerobic condition inside it. they only from algal Bloom in polluted water.
Eg. Nostoc, anabena, scytonema...etc
