METALS
1.They are generally solid at room temperature.(except mercury)
2.Metals are generally hard .(except sodium)
3.Metals are malleable; means can be converted into thin sheets using a hammer.
4.Metals are ductile means they can be converted into thin wires.
5.Metals have shiny appearance or they are lustrous.
6. metals are good conductors of heat and electricity.
7.Metals are sonorous. They produce a ringing sound on striking hard.
8.metals have high densities (except alkali metal).

Metals:-

⇒ Physical state :- Metals are solid at room temperature except mercury and gallium

⇒ Melting & Boiling points :- Metals have high melting and boiling point except gallium and cesium

⇒ Density :- Generally have high density

⇒ Malleability & Ductility:- Metals are malleable and ductile

⇒ Electrical & Thermal conductor :- Good conductor of heat and electricity

⇒ Lustre :- pososs shining lustre

⇒ Sound :- Metals give sonorous sound

⇒ Hardness :- Generally hard except postassium ( K ) and sodium ( Na )

Non metals :-

⇒ Physical state :- Non metals generally exist as solid and gases except Bromine.

⇒ Melting & boiling point :- they have low melting and boiling point except diamond and graphite

⇒ Density:- Generally low density

⇒ Malleability and Ductility:- Neither Malleable nor Ductile

⇒ Electrical and thermal conductor :- poor conductor of heat and electricity except graphite.

⇒ Lustre :- Do not have lustre except Iodine

⇒ Sound :- Does not give sound

⇒ Hardness :- Gernerally Soft except Diamond.
