How planets rotate in space? why there is no air in space?
Answers
There IS gravity in space.
You might be confused along the lines of "apparent weightlessness" that space-farers experience due to (relatively) low gravitational force acting on them.
Gravitational force between two objects varies with three factors: the indivisual mass of each object and the distance between them. When human-scale objects get significantly far from Earth, the force that Earth exerts on them (weight) reduces drastically, resulting in an apparent weightless feeling. Planets, on the other hand, being massive as they are, suffer much more gravitational force from the Sun and other solar system bodies. This gravity dictates their orbits of revolution.
In space, no one can hear you scream. This is because there is no air in space – it is a vacuum. Sound waves cannot travel through a vacuum. 'Outer space' begins about 100 km above the Earth, where the shell of air around our planet disappears.
