How planting of crops affects soil fertility

if we are using fertilizer or pesticides in planting a crop then of course it will damage the soil as soil looses it's fertility and it requires more and more fertilizer and makes the soil unfertile but if we are growing a crop by avoiding the usage of fertilizer and use manure or cow dung then the soil doesn't became barren it becomes more and more fertile so cropping is good for soil if we not use any fertilizer or pesticides but it is harmful to soil if we do excessive use of these chemicals.
