Both plants and animals will have their individual zones of Ph sensitivity, and their own ranges in which they are the most “comfortable” and productive. Sort of like humans in winter time with a room temp of 72, vs. 68. The ones at 72 may be more comfortable than the folks at 68, bit the ones at 68 most likely will not die from their discomfort.

The only Really far out examples of this would be the acid and basic extremophiles, who can basically only function in regions of extremely strong acids (Low Ph), or Extremely Basic environments of very (High Ph). Outsidw of this, Every plant, and Animal will have an optimal range of Ph that will allow them to be the most effecient at producing whatever product they have evolved over time to produce.
