How population is an asset for the economy rather than liability

we could take example of India and china..India always considers population as a liability due to..following reasons 1 poverty and illiteracy and whereas china uses its population and china made a great use of technology and efficiency and they are making a good use of resources such as land and physical capital..

Population can be asset rather than liability if we spend on human resource. If a person 'll spend on their children for their education, their good health then in future they 'll definitely give them back the things they took from them. In the same way if the country 'll help to spend on population then it 'll pay back to them. As japan has paid in his population and that's the only reason today it is known as rich and developed country.
