Colombia is the oldest second largest coffee grower and coffee exporter and accounting for 31.2 percent of the world production.coffee production and exports are the major engine of the growth during the 20th century.however by the end of the century the country has achieved greater diversification.by 1999 agriculture accounted by 99.7% of GDP,while manufacturing attend 13.9%, and the Banking and Insurance sector attained for 18.9 percent,of lesser significance work of Commerce restaurant and similar activities with 8.8% mining at 4.2%.an overview of the productive landscape shows agriculture diminishing at the time with the considerable increase in services, mining sector grows in term of output and export through diminishing of employment and manufacturing sectors.
