PS1 is a cyclic process carried in stroma and PS2 is a non cyclic process carried in the inner membrane of a thaylakoid.

PS1 function in stroma that is outer membrane of thylakoid lacks the NADP+ i.e. a reducing agent. While in PS2 where non cyclic process is going on various e- carriers are present as well as the reducing agent is present at the end which accepts the electron from the photosystem and the H+ present inside the lumen of thylakoid is pumped reducing NADP to NADPH2.
