How radio n television better means of communication than newspapers?

You don’t have to think as much to watch TV as you do to just listen to the radio, or, worse yet, read. Also, television is geared to the lowest average attention span, about 10 minutes or less for adults and closer to one minute for young children. Newspapers have the fewest number of pictures, and many of them are ( horrors!) black and white, not color. On the other hand, people consider newspapers more authoritative than magazines ( except scholarly journals) and magazines more authoritative than TV. Except Charlie Rose, for some reason.
