Rain bow is formed in seven colours

Rainbow is formed just after the rain when the sun rises. This is because when the white light passes trough the rain droplets the white light splits into 7 colours(VIBGYOR). This is called dispersion of light, Same phenomenon takes place when white light is passed through a prism, it forms. a spectrum.
