Rainbow is a natural phenomena which is caused as well as formed due to relection and refraction of light especially of sun.
During raining time, the droplet of rain water acts as a prism and there is millions of such droplets forming greater reflection, refraction and then scattering of light into seven VIBGYOR colors.
This spectrum is observed by us opposite the direction of sun in the form of rainbow.

Rainbow is a phenomenon of the spectrum of refraction of light. After or during rain, when sunlight passes through small droplets ,the light ray passing through it bends and disperses a little when it enters into the water droplet and disperses more after it exits the water droplet. When it escapes from the water droplets, the white light of the Sun is totally dispered and the result is the Rainbow .
