How regionalism
creates disunity in the country
Answers
Some of the most important the causes of regionalism in India are as follows: (i) Geographical Factor (ii) Historical and Cultural Factors (iii) Caste and Region (iv) Economic Factors (v) Political-Administrative Factors.
Every effort to combat regionalism would be misconceived in the mistaken belief that is not beneficial to national interests. It would be sheer folly to impose uniformity in a vast country like India.
Regional parties do not mess with national unity and dignity as long as they do not surpass their reach.
People rely on regional parties as they feel that they alone can protect the interests of the concerned State and can struggle for the constitutional rights and powers of the States without being hamstrung by their affiliation with a national party.
Obviously, regional parties focus on protecting and advancing regional interests.
