The simplest thing to do is to drink more water. If your body is not properly hydrated, your colon isn't either. Increase your intake of good fiber, i.e. fruits and vegetables. Add some yogurt in there too to increase the amount of healthy bacteria in your digestive system and if yogurt isn't your thing, you can try a probiotic supplement. If none of this seems to be working, try a mild stool softener (like Colace). There are numerous factors that contribute to constipation like stress, consuming lots of dairy products, certain medications and medical conditions, and inadequate physical activity so you can look into changing any of those that might apply to you as well.
