How religion affect harmony. And spirit of unity?

Though religion have been originated by man long years ago they r still prevalent today
Due to different religions our society is being distinguished or separated as many groups thus affecting the unity of our country. People only welcome and entertain or help someone who especially belongs to their religion.
The beast ex is of an iitian who was especially a Muslim but as the society refused to provide facilities for him he had to change his name as shubham and after success he revealed his real name he did this because he was rejected by the society just because he was a Muslim.
If this goes on surely our country's unity will decrease and end up in fights and chaos no r.
Here people r not bothered about ones qualities or talents but their religion and caste thus affecting the spirit of unity.
