Reproduction in human beings is by sexual reproduction where both the male and female gametes fertilize to give rise to an embryo. The fertilization of human embryo occurs inside the body of the female. Thus, it is called Internal Fertilization.

The Reproduction and Development Process. In the reproductive process, a male sperm and a female egg provide the information required to produce another human being. ... The fetus grows inside the uterus until pregnancy ends with labor and birth.

During sexual intercourse the sperm from the Male enters into the vagina of the female.  Sperm fuses with one egg and zygote is formed. The zygote is implanted in the uterus and divides to form embryo. The development of child takes 9 months and child is born due to rythemic contractions
