Road transport is ecomical in transportation of few people over less distance whereas rail transport is economical for transportation of more people over long distance.
Road transport increases the efficiency of railways.
Road transport links rural areas with railway stations.
The deficiency of railways isb
compensated by road transport.
Thus road transport and rail transport are not competitive but complementary to each other.
