How sex determination takes place in human? Explain with example.

Sex determination. A baby's sex isdetermined at the time of conception. When the baby is conceived, a chromosome from the sperm cell, either X or Y, fuses with the X chromosome in the egg cell,determining whether the baby will be female (XX) or male (XY).

In the case of human the sex determining in XY types. Out of 23 pairs of chromosomes present, 22 pairs of chromosomes are exactly same in both males and females, are called autosomes.

  • In the pair of x-chromosomes are always present in the female, and the presence of an an X and Y chromosomes are determinant of male features . During spermatogenesis between males, there are two types of gametes are produced. Out of 100 Percent the 50 percentage of total sperm produced which carry the x-chromosomes and the left 50 percent has Y-chromosomes besides the autosomes.

  • But female produced only one type of ovum with an x-chromosomes.
