FORWARD BIASED JUNCTION DIODE
EXPLANATION:
To connect the junction diode as forward-biased you need to do the following:-
Connect the positive side of the battery to the anode side of the junction diode which is also known as the P-side. Later, connect the negative side of the battery to the cathode of the junction diode, also known to be the N-side. This is the condition in which the junction can be connected to the battery to keep it facing forward ( Forward Biased Junction Diode ).
In such a condition the height of the potential barrier at the junction is lowered by an amount equal to the given forward biasing voltage.

Forward Bias in P-N Junction Diode:
- In an ideal P-N junction, the resistance showed by the diode in forward bias is zero (practically very less).
- In order to connect a junction diode in forward bias, the p type semi-conductor side has to be connected to the positive terminal of cell/battery.
- Similarly, the n type semi-conductor side has to be connected to the negative terminal of the cell/battery.
- In forward bias, the depletion layer becomes very small, and the current flows in order of milli-amperes.
Hope It Helps.
