he Intolerance of the 1920's was based on the negative, disgusted, and wistful fear towards immigrants, blacks, and other minorities. White American societies were afraid for the United States economic structure. They feared their jobs would be stolen from the immigrants and other minority groups. That the leftist radical ideals or communism would take over the American radicalism. Traditionalist ideas of the past are very strict compared to the modern ideas in the 1920's. In the past, individuals would be "forced" to believe and think in a specific way, no one had the freedom for their own opinion. However, in the 1920's individuals branched away and formed their own thought and beliefs, creating conflict with the more traditionalist individuals.
