Answer:
the cultivation of silk moths of silkworms for the production of silk is called sericulture. a female silk moth can lay upto 400 eggs at one time which are kept under a controlled environment for about ten days. After this, the larvae are fed mulberry leaves for two weeks and spins Cocoon with the help of their salivary gland called sericteries. It secrets this fluid over the four next days and at the end it wraps itself into about a kilometre long silk filament. the Cocoon is then obtained after treating with steam or boiling water which kills the pupa and soften the Cocoon. Further treatment is done to make the silk soft and lighter
