Soap has hydrophobic and hydrophilic parts in which hydrophobic part try to stay away from the water and on the other hand hydrophilic part float in water this makes a tale and a body. Whenever a dirty cloth is put under water, the hydrophobic part sticks on it and the hydrophilic part connected to hydrophobic part pulls it, thus the hydrophobic part along with dirt is pulled out from the cloth and thus cloth is cleaned.
