Socialism didn't start in Russia. Vladimir Lenin led a revolution in 1917 against the reigning Tsar. After he and the Bolsheviks successfully took over,socialism was implemented into the new Russian government. Socialismcame to Lenin through someone or something outside of Russian reach.
