The differences between soft iron in electromagnet from permanent magnet are as follows ↓↓↓↓

➡ Soft iron has a strong magnetic field. It is much stronger than a permanent magnet.

➡Soft iron can be easily demagnetized by stopping the current flow. However permanent magnets are not easily demagnetized .

➡ Soft iron's magnetic field direction can easily be changed. This can be done by changing the direction of current.However the permanent magnet's magnetic field cannot be changed .

➡ Soft iron is different from the permanent magnet which consist of hard iron like steel.
