how solidarity came to power in poland

Solidarity or "Solidarność" in Polish, was a movement that relied on the trade unions power which engulfed and en-powered its first steps into the political arena. According to the link below it was greatly supported by USA funds in order to undermine the communist Government that rule Poland till then. 

The massive numbers of trade union workers that joined the movement immediately right from the beginning gave it the momentum to grow and play important part in the political scene of Poland. 
Then some strikes that took place in the country helped to expedite matters.

● 2)it was protesting for the basic rights which the people did not had due to the government.
