Sound need a material medium for it's propagition .And this medium is provided by air.
When an object vibrates, it sets neighbouring medium particles in back and fourth motion .These particles in turn transfer the disturbance to their neighboring particles and so on.
In this manner, disturbances travels through the medium and medium particles close to our ear also start vibrating .These vibrating particles of medium transfer disturbance to the eardrum and from there it reaches Incus,Malleus and Stapes. And then to the inner ear and then from auditory nerve to brain.
As a result, the disturbance (SOUND) produced by a vibrating object finally reaches our brain.
Hope it helps!!
