First vibrated particle transfers its energy on to next one .

This continues and the sound travels till the end .

Sound is a longitudnal wave and needs a medium to travel. That medium could be anything.Wave is a disturbance in a medium in which the particles of the medium set the neighbouring particles into motion. So sound can propagate anywhere and is produced by vibrations. When the vibration moves forward it pushes and compresses the air in front of it creating a region of high pressure called compression. When the same vibration moves backwars itcreates a region of low pressure called rarefaction. When a series of compressions and rarefaction is created the sound propagates in a medium very easily.

Hope you like it.thanks!
